The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is an Australian Government initiative that funds essential supports for individuals under 65 with significant, permanent disabilities.

The NDIS helps participants achieve greater independence and access to the services they need for a better quality of life.

What is the ADLO Program?

The Aboriginal Disability Liaison Officer (ADLO) program is funded by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) and provides dedicated support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals with disabilities.

This program helps people connect with the NDIS, ensuring they receive assistance in navigating the application process, accessing necessary assessments, and communicating with NDIS staff to become active participants.

NDIS Supports

Our Aboriginal Disability Liaison Officer (ADLO) is here to make it easier for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients to access the NDIS.

The ADLO program offers:

  • NDIS Application Assistance: Guidance and support throughout the NDIS application process, including assistance with completing and submitting applications to the NDIS Local Area Coordinator (LAC)
  • Support Coordination: Coordinating and connecting NDIS participants with the right services and resources to meet their individual needs.
  • Advocating for Our Clients: Here to support your journey, making sure your goals are met and your funding is used in the best way for your needs.

We are committed to enhancing the quality of life for our clients by providing culturally safe and understanding support at every stage of their NDIS journey.

How to Access Our Program

Steps to access the ADLO Program & NDIS Services:

  1. Identify Eligibility: Our ADLO will assist in determining if you may be eligible for NDIS support. This is a dedicated service to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.
  2. Obtain Necessary Assessments: We will help you gather any assessments or documentation needed to support your NDIS application.
  3. Submit Your Application: Our ADLO will communicate with the NDIS on your behalf and assist you in submitting a complete application.
  4. Receive Support Coordination: Once approved, our ADLO will help you coordinate services and connect with resources as a NDIS participant.
