Affiliations

The National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO) is the national leadership body for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health in Australia. The organisation provides advice and guidance to the Australian Government on policy and budget matters while advocating for community-developed health solutions that contribute to the quality of life and improved health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

NAACHO represents 146 Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs) that operate in over 300 clinics across Australia, delivering holistic, comprehensive, and culturally competent primary health care services.

The Queensland Aboriginal and Islander Health Council (QAIHC) is a leadership and policy organisation. QAIHC was established in 1990 and is the peak organisation representing all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community-controlled health organisations (ACCHOs) in Queensland at both a state and national level.

The QAIHC Membership is comprised of ACCHOs located throughout Queensland. Nationally, Queensland is represented through its affiliation and membership on the board of the National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO).

The Regional Medical Pathway (RMP) is dedicated to improving healthcare in Central Queensland and the Wide Bay regions.  By creating an integrated end-to-end training pathway, RMP is building a strong regional workforce of doctors to serve rural and remote communities.

An Australian‑first university and hospital partnership between CQUniversity, The University of Queensland, and the Central Queensland and Wide Bay Hospital and Health Services. Students are able to study and train as doctors while staying connected to their own communities.

• Students visit Bidgerdii services & Rockhampton Children & Family Centre. Students and mentors from Podiatry, Physiotherapy, Speech and Occupational Therapy (under direct supervision) engage with community to gain experience working within a health provision setting.

• In collaboration with James Cook University (Blackwater) and Central Queensland University (Rockhampton), student-led clinics are held throughout the year under the guidance of mentors. These clinics provide students with valuable hands-on patient experience while also deepening their understanding of delivering culturally appropriate care. In addition, we are partnering with JCU in a Bowel Cancer Screening Project.

Country to Coast (CCQ) is independent not-for-profit organisation funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health.

CCQ provides GP resources to more than 250 practices in our region to deliver primary health care. Identifying areas of need with lack of health care services, difficulty in accessing these services or regions with high health needs.

CCQ’s priority areas of health improvements are; Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, health workforce, digital health aged care, population health planning and alcohol and other drugs.

The Department of Education delivers world-class education services for Queenslanders at every stage of their personal and professional development. The key focus is Early Childhood and Education.

Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) was established in 1996 and is dedicated to rural and remote First Nations health.

For more that 25 years ACCRM’s goal has been to improve and maintain the health of rural and remote communities. Rural communities need access to doctors who are skilled, confident, have commitment and passion. ACCRM helps them achieve this by offering support and services that consider each members need.

The Department of Families, Seniors, Disability Services & Child Safety supports and offers services and information about, Child Safety, Domestic, family and sexual violence, seniors and carers, people with disability.

The Australian Department of Health, Disability and Ageing develop and provide policies, also programs and advise the Australian Government on health, disability and aged care.

Using well targeted programs and evidence-based policy to support and shape government health systems. The purpose and vision is to deliver better health and welling for all Generation now and future.

The National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA) works in partnership to enable the self-determination and aspirations of First Nation Communities.

Implementing the Australians Government’s’ priorities and support the Minister For Indigenous Australians.

NIAA’s portfolio: Closing the Gap, Cultural and Empowering Communities, Data Evaluation and Research, Early Childhood Development and Education, Employment and Economic Development, Environment and Land, Grants and Funding, Health and Wellbeing, Housing and Community.

Australian General Practice Accreditation Limited (AGPAL) is a leading not-for-profit organisation. AGPAL provides general practice accreditation and quality improvement services to Australian general practices and other organisations against the RACGP Standards.

Institute for Healthy Communities Australia Certification (IHCA) is a third party certification and accreditation service which ensures that health and community service organisations Australia wide to provide safer, better quality services to clients.

IHCA certification assists organisations to undertake a culture of continuous quality improvement, via auditing and assessment.
